Join us this summer for our annual Summer Youth Advocacy program! In this fun summer program, learn to advocate for disability rights! Come learn about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), how to tell if a building is accessible, and then visit locations around the area to test the law in action! You will also learn how to lobby your legislators, then meet some and talk with them about current issues.
Workshops will take place at the Ann Arbor CIL, 3941 Research Park Drive, Ann Arbor. The CIL will provide snacks and money for transportation.
This project is open to participants with and without disabilities ages 14 to 26. Only 20 youth can join in, so sign up today! To register or get more information, contact Anna Dusbiber Gossage at firstname.lastname@example.org or (734) 971-0277 x17.
The series will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays, June 15 through August 11, except the first week of July. We will spend one week, June 22 through 26, at the U.S. Social Forum in Detroit.
