The Ann Arbor CIL transformed into “Salon de Luxe” on Saturday, May 14th at the Youth Pamper and Primp event. Eight lovely ladies took advantage of professional hair styling, manicure, and pedicure services donated by a volunteer group from Ann Arbor/Brighton’s 2/42 Community Church.
Chelsea, a long time Ann Arbor CIL youth member and WISD student, used the event to prepare for her school’s formal that evening. With sparkling purple nails to match her dress, and her hair in a half-updo of ringlets, Chelsea had a radiant smile as she left the CIL for her night of fun.
Another long time CIL youth member Ana, who has recently transitioned out of the program, learned techniques to style her own hair. As she led a game of cards with some of the volunteers and participants, Ana showed off the purple flower barrette in her hair and announced her plans to keep it and use it in future styling!
After the group was all gussied up, the Youth Services Team, Anna, and Robin, hosted a lunch at Olive Garden to show off everyone’s new look! Each girl felt confident and beautiful as they stepped out looking their best.
Thanks again to the amazing volunteers from 2/42 Community Church who showed us what true beauty is all about.
