Free Nutritional Services at the Ann Arbor CIL!

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

The Ann Arbor CIL  is now a rotation site for University of Michigan’s Dietetic Interns! For six weeks,  interns will come to the Ann Arbor CIL to provide free nutritional services to our consumers.  The services provided will be  individual nutritional counseling, and a  general nutrition class.   During the individual nutritional counseling sessions, participants can choose a personal nutritional issue to work on with the dietetic interns.  In the nutrition class, participants will receive guidance as a group, on a variety of  nutritional topics. These topics include meal planning; eating healthy on a budget; the benefits of  fresh produce; balanced nutrition; portion size and much more.

The dietetic interns will be here every Thursday for six weeks, starting on July 26th. Participants can sign up for individual sessions between 11am and 1pm, and the nutrition class will start at 2pm. Participants in our nutritional program will receive  $20 worth of coupons, provided to us by Senior ProjectFRESH , that can be used at the local  farmers market. You must be registered for, and participate in, our nutrition program to be eligible for the farmers market coupons.  If you are interested in signing up for nutritional services, please contact Ava HaberkornHalm at ava@aacil.org, or by phone at (734)971-0277 ext.55, as soon as possible.

Thank you and here’s to healthy bodies and minds!
