Employment Training & Community Services (ETCS) - A “multi-service organization that strives to bridge the activities between community economic development, workforce development, and community action.” For the consumer, assistance for small home repairs, low cost loans for home repairs, occasional emergency utilities assistance, rent assistance to prevent eviction, tax forclosure & emergency food vouchers can be found. Michigan State University Extension Office (MSUExt) – Their mission is to “help people improve their lives through an educational process that applies knowledge to critical needs, issues and opportunities.” They regularly offer classes and workshops on budgeting, parenting, and healthy living.

To find MSU extension office for your county of residence, visit their website at www.msue.msu.edu/portal/default.cfm. From that site, tap “Offices/Staff” in left hand bar under “INFORMATION….” At that point, you will see a listing of all the counties in the state. Simply tap on your county, and you will be directed to an activities calendar for your regional MSU office.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) - List of support groups and workshops for individuals and their families who may be experiencing mental illness. http://www.namiwc.org/

Friends in Deed – Friends In Deed is an inter-faith volunteer organization that provides for needs of Washtenaw County residents that are not being met by other human service agencies. Friends In Deed provides information, referral, and screening services to congregations and agencies as well as resources to people in need. Program Contact Lines:
