Peer Support is about people with disabilities listening to, supporting, and helping other people with disabilities to live independent, self determined, and powerful lives of their own choosing. At AACIL, Peer Support happens in a variety of ways: staff with disabilities provide services to consumers with disabilities; volunteer Peer Mentors work one-on-one with others to help them achieve their personal goals and learn to live powerfully with their disabilities; and group leaders and participants support each other as well. On this page you’ll find more information about each of these opportunities to give and/or receive support.
