Volunteer Opportunities:

Anyone interested in assisting the Friends of the Ypsilanti District Library to raise funds to support the library may be drawn to helping sort donated books, work at the three-times a year book sale, or take a shift in the Friends Shop. Other adult volunteers may contact the Administrative Receptionist to learn more about helping with:

  • Straightening book shelves and checking book order
  • Keeping the library tidy by picking up trash around the building or dusting
  • Greeting visitors on the Customer Service Desk and answering questions
  • Assisting with materials processing or program preparation
  • Other tasks as needed

We are looking for people willing to donate a few hours of their time on an ongoing basis. The library does not accept volunteers through any court-ordered program. By becoming a volunteer you help the library be a more effective service in the community.

For more information about becoming a volunteer at YDL, call 482-4110 x 1371.
