Table with food stuffs on top of it and gallons of water below it
We are happy to share that the CIL has recently launched a food pantry in the Monroe office to assist you if you are in need.
Connecting the Roots, our pantry, prepares pre-assembled bags of groceries containing a variety of meats, cereals, pastas, canned and pantry items, and personal care items. Anyone in the community can request a bag of groceries one time per week as needed. In particular, if you are applying for a Bridge card from DHS and awaiting a determination, you can access food at our pantry while you wait.
The pantry will be available all year-round. During COVID, you can arrange a pick-up of the food from our Monroe office, or we can deliver the food to your home. Food at the pantry comes from the Monroe County Opportunity Program. The pantry is primarily for residents of Monroe county, and requests from residents of other counties will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on availability of food. If you are interested in a bag of groceries from the food pantry, call the Monroe office at 734-682-5271.
We are so proud to share this new resource with you. Creating this food pantry has been a considerable amount of effort by our staff team in Monroe, and we thank them for their hard work and tremendous passion in bringing this pantry to reality.
