Peer Support

Peer Support is about people with disabilities listening to, supporting, and helping other people with disabilities to live independent, self-determined, and powerful lives of their own choosing. At AACIL, Peer Support happens in a variety of ways:

  • Staff with disabilities provide services to consumers with disabilities;
  • Volunteer Peer Mentors work one-on-one with others to help them achieve their personal goals and learn to live powerfully with their disabilities;
  • And group leaders and participants supporting each other as well.

On this page you’ll find more information about each of these opportunities to give and/or receive support.

The following is a list of support groups that meet at the Ann Arbor CIL. We suggest that new or potential members call the contact person to confirm the time and meeting place of any group.
